Going around Noto Peninsula. Places that Japanese drama,Mare was filmed.
Mare is a Japanese drama that was on TV from March to September in 2015. It was filmed with beautiful local people and beautiful nature in Ishikawa prefecture.

【MARE POINT: Kotogahama Beach 】
The place that the main character dances in the opening song. It's a rare beach because the sand produces sound when you step on, it's called singing sand / whistling sand.

On the way to the next stop, you can find a big rock which is like Totoro! Look, there are eyes! Hello Totoro!

"Fresh goat milk ice cream"

Let's try. The best timing to eat is when it becomes little bit soft, so wait for a while... Relaxing time with the view of the blue ocean and the goat...

Going up and down the hill. Now, the ocean is in front of you.

【MARE POINT : The beautiful town】
Going up and down the hill again.

There is a port. You could recognize this view if you watched the drama.

【MARE POINT: Magaki No Sato】
Osawa village. It's protected from the strong wind from the ocean by the bamboo wall.

【MARE POINT : Yagura】
The main charactor, Mare played around this when she was small.

【MARE POINT : Sotora village hall】

【MARE POINT: Sotora village shrine】

【MARE POINT : Okesaku】
It's the hostel that Mare grew up.

People around here is very kind and has omotenashi(hospitality). When I, the writer of this article went there, someone said to me, "You can't go inside, but go look around." I was impressed when I heard it.

Let's go to the center of Wajima city. Such an intresting tree.

Sodegahama beach. It would be full of people in summer.

It's windy but you can see how clear it is.

【MARE POINT : Kamogaura】
The place that Keita and Ichiko were at. You can walk and jump on the stones.

【MARE POINT : Wajima city hall】
Mare was working here.

【MARE POINT : Iroha bridge】
It's near the morning market in Wajima.

The hot spring for your feet,"Yurari"

It's very nice temperature. There is a foot hot spring for the pet also.
There is Kiriko art museum, it's closed at 17:00. I left Kanazawa in the afternoon and it took 3 hours... and i couldn't make it... so... tomorrow!

Good morning. This place is good for fishing. Let's go to Wajima Kiriko Art Museum

It was renewed in spring in 2015.

People carry the big lanterns which is called Kiriko in the festival in Noto. Everybody in Noto loves this passionate festival. You can feel the good vibes in this museum but you would think that you want to come here around the festival.

Why don't you get some Kiriko souvenirs?

【MARE POINT : The morning market in Wajima】
This is one of the biggest morning markets in Japan. The history is for one thousand years. It opens from 8 in the morning but some shops does later, so don't worry. You don't have to wake up too early to come to enjoy the market. (It's my personal impression...)

There are not only a lot of tourists

but also locals who want the fresh food.

Most of the people who are working there are women. Women power.

【MARE POINT : Senmaida】
After enjoying at the morning market, let's go to the tip of Ishikawa prefecture.
You can see the ocean view on the way. First, you can check a famous rice field called Senmaida.

The gate of shrine, Tori-i is in the ocean.

The shrine is in the mountain.

【MARE POINT : Sumo beach】
The beach that Mare was doing sumo when she was a kid.

A dog was welcoming me. What a peaceful yawn.

Suzu city.
The history of this area is for 1300 years. And people started to make salt there 500 years ago. there are still some people who make salt. There was a bad time that they couldn't get so much salt because of a lot of rain in 2014. The weather is the key for making a lot of salt.

An 87-year-old man was making salt! (You can't see this when it rains or it's not the production time)

There is a long history of how to make salt.

Boiling down

Oh! That's salt! But not salty yet.

The stocker of the bittern. The salt is certified as Noto Agricultural Heritage. I'm proud of the people who still protect the history of Noto salt. Let's buy one and go to the next stop. Thank you for making the yummy salt, gentleman!

Tsubaki Chaya

Wow, great view! How beautiful the blue ocean is!

The menus are written on the rocks. I heared that Tako meshi (octopus rice) is a rare one. But i am greedy...

Demakase (random things) set 1,000 yen! One whole squid. You would be full with the local food.

There is a park called Kinoura Kaiiki Kouen. A Japanese movie "Saihatenite" was filmed here. This beautiful place is a famous diving spot.

I looked around there from the higher place, it's also a good view. Let's go to the tip of Noto!

This is Noroshi town in Suzu city! It's unique to see two cafes next to eachother like in this picture.

Walk for ten minutes to go to your goal. You would get tired little bit because of the small slope...Go for it!

Shining roofs

Finally we are here! One of the blue sign says that 783km away from here to Busan. It's too far to walk there...

【MARE POINT : Rokkousaki Toudai(Lighthouse) 】
You can see the sunrise and sunset at the same place. But it takes a long time to see the view so maybe next time!

The blue sky and the white lighthouse appeared in the opening of the drama. It's beautiful. MARE TOUR is at end but our journey still continues!

Sacred point.
It's one of the most popular sacred place, so let's go get the good energy there.

Ohhh my god It's shaaakiiiing. The buildings that you can see there is a very popular hostel, The Lamp Inn.

Suzu shrine
It protects around the Sea of Japan

It's a historical shrine. Some people from Kanazawa come also.

There is a wonderful ocean in front of the shrine.

I found a elementary school which has a slogan that says "Sleep early, wake up early, and eat breakfast". Such a good sentence.

There is a cafe in Suzu city which became a model in the Japanese movie called "Saihatenite".

Good sweets, cute dishes and good coffee. It's full of customers always.

What a peaceful bus stop...

It feels like the time passes slowly.

The lady working slowly

Very close to the ocean!
The beach that the car can be driven on, Chirihama. Being eroded is getting a problem these days. We, the Ishikawan people need to protect it!

You can watch the sun going down over the Sea of Japan on the car at Chirihama. Noto trip is at end! But there are more places that I want to show you, so see you soon...
