We have not only the ordinary taxi but also Jumbo Taxi, Micro Bus and High-class Taxi.

There are three temple areas in Kanazawa ; Teramachi Ji-ingun, Utatsuyama Sanroku Ji-ingun and Kodatsuno Ji-ingun. Each area has their own atmosphere. Let's go!

@Utatsuyama Sanroku Ji-ingun
Go up the hill because there are 50 temples in the mountain.

@Jukyoji temple
When people suffered from hunger in 1858, they screamed "Give us the rice!!" from the Utatsuyama mountain to the castle. 7 leaders of the resistance movement were killed, and these nana-ine jizo (seven stone statues) were constructed for praying for them.

Utatsuyama area has a lot of narrow roads and winding roads, so you can rely on the local taxi drive

@Hosenji temple
Marishiten statue welcomes you.

You can see Kenrokuen garden, Kanazawa castle, Asano river, Higashi Chaya District... It's also a good place to see the sunset.

@Utasu jinja(shrine)
There is a well called "Toshitsune ko Sakaba no Ido (The well of Toshitsune lord's bar). The water cured 5th lord in Kaga domain, Tsunanori's sickness.

Let's go to Kodatsuno Ji-ingun (temples' area) from around Utasuyama mountain. It used to be one of the greatest family in Kaga, Okumura family's house. It's a hospital now but the old wall still remains.

@Kyo-onji temple
It was built in 1491. Spring is the best timing to go there because the beautiful cherry blossoms blooms. This Shidare Zakura tree was designated by Kanazawa city as a tree for preservation. It's convinient to come here by taxi because the road is narrow.

A lot of cherry blossoms on the roof would fascinate you.

@Ho-enji temple
It was built by Maeda Toshi-ie (a lord of Kaga domain) in 1388.

This is Maeda family's temple.

@Tentoku-in temple
It's a temple of Tamahime (a wife of 3rd lord Maeda Toshitsune)'s family.

It says it's Tamahime's temple at the entrance.

This gate was designated by Ishikawa prefecture as a tangible cultural property.

Let's go to the third temple area, Teramachi Ji-ingun. There are about 70 temples there. It's near Teramachi town. The Saigawa river side is a place of relaxation for locals.

@Korinji temple
Many women visit to pray for a safe childbirth and luck in love.

There are the statues of Chinese zodiac animals. There are twelve animals : rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, pig/ boar. Find your zodiac animal and pray.

You can enjoy just seeing many kinds of stone statues.

@Myoryuji temple aka Ninja temple
It was built in 1643. It has a lot of deceptive defences such as the traps and hidden stairs and rooms. There is a rumor that the temple was a branch castle and it's connected to Kanazawa castle in the basement. (It's just a rumor. It's a mystery if it's true or not...)
